Double Rainbows

Double Rainbows are
A sense of new beginnings
A reminder that life is precious
A feeling of peace in a turbulent world
A splash of warm colors on a gray misty day
An excuse to run shamelessly in the rain towards the pot of gold
A sense of happiness when the struggles of life can get you down
A feeling of hope for a drowning soul
A reminder of where there is dark, there is light
A sign from God that He is watching over us
And that everything is going to be
Okay

There Is No Perfect Child

So, even though we have fallen head over heels, blissfully in love with our adopted child and she adjusted very quickly to her new home and family – I think it is very important to point out (especially for parents considering adoption) that no child is perfect.   Really folks!   For all of Megan’s  many, many remarkable qualities, she still  does things like any child would do – she throws tantrums, she fights with her brothers,  she tells me she doesn’t like me when she’s mad at me,  she’s stubborn – you get the idea.  No child ever comes home perfect.  No child ever born is perfect.   I just want to be clear because I know sometimes when I talk about Megan,  I tend to put her on a pedestal.  (And I probably glow.)

Well……..she is the best thing that has ever happened to our family……. and she is our angel, but she is not perfect.........

See, total angel, no attitide what.so.ever.
